MCA Buyouts, Refinancing, and Consolidation
A buyout or consolidation replaces one or more advances with a single new obligation. It can simplify payments — but only helps if the new terms truly improve your position.
How it generally works
A new funder or lender pays off some or all existing positions, and the business repays the new provider instead. Sometimes the business also receives additional cash. The new obligation may be another MCA, a term loan, or another product, each with different costs and structures.
Watch for
- A larger total repayment amount than the positions being replaced
- Payments that are only slightly lower, or that rise later
- Positions left out of the consolidation that keep debiting
- Prepayment terms and whether early payoff reduces cost
