Which documents to gather before an MCA debt relief or merchant cash advance settlement evaluation — and why bank statements and current agreements matter.
An honest evaluation of merchant cash advance (MCA) debt starts with documents, not guesses. Having the right paperwork ready makes the first conversation faster and more accurate.
1. Your last four months of business bank statements
Recent statements show actual deposits, how often remittances are debited, which funders are collecting, and how much room is left for payroll, rent, and inventory. Four months usually shows enough pattern to see whether sales are steady, seasonal, or declining.
2. Every current lender and MCA agreement
Agreements define the purchased amount, remittance schedule, reconciliation rights, default terms, personal guarantees, and any confession of judgment. Two advances with similar balances can carry very different terms, so the agreements themselves matter.
3. A simple list of balances and payments
For each advance or loan, note the funder, approximate remaining balance, payment amount, and frequency (daily or weekly). Our calculators can help organize these numbers.
4. Any notices you've received
Demand letters, default notices, lawsuit papers, or bank freeze notices change the urgency. If you've received legal papers, speak with a qualified attorney promptly.
What you should never send
No legitimate reviewer needs your online banking username and password or your Social Security number to do an initial review. Don't send them.
When you're ready, you can upload your statements and agreements securely with the inquiry form on our MCA business debt relief page. A review doesn't guarantee any settlement, savings, or result.
