When Debt Payments Are Causing Cash-Flow Problems

Late vendor payments, tight payroll weeks, and falling behind on taxes are often symptoms of a debt-payment burden that's too high for current revenue.

Measure the burden

Add every debt payment — MCAs, loans, lines of credit, equipment financing — converted to a monthly figure. Divide by average monthly revenue. Then subtract operating expenses to see what's left. These numbers make it much easier to discuss options clearly.

Common next steps

Owners commonly build a short-term cash-flow forecast, review agreements for reconciliation or modification options, and explore relief or refinancing paths. Each depends on the specific obligations involved.
